 Kent Tennis Day 2023

As the Kent Tennis 2022 Club of the Year, Meopham LTC hosted the annual Kent Tennis Day on 16 September.

 

It was an opportunity for the club to open up its facilities to local people and from across Kent, with a Family Cup event for adults and children competing together, won by Sam and Paul from Shooters Hill and runners up were Sam and Rob from Meopham.

 

Over 100 people of all ages and abilities taking part in free coaching, which included fun, sociable group fitness Cardio Tennis sessions and Rusty Rackets, for those who hadn’t played in a while.

 

It was also an opportunity for the club to support the local Helen Allison School in Meopham, for children on the autism spectrum, with a special session for pupils with the coaching team, greatly enjoyed by the children who came along.

 

The day finished with an exhibition doubles match played by four of the county’s top female players, 3 of whom have played tennis internationally at junior level: Daisy Rowland, Eloise Newberry, Lois Newberry, Leticia Romanova.
