GOVERNANCE

KENT TENNIS A.G.M. 29 April 2024 documents

From 1 January 2024, Kent Tennis changed its legal structure from a volunteer led unincorporated Association (with a Board of Management, Council and a part time staffed Office Team) to a volunteer led Charitable Incorporated Organisation (with a Board of Trustees, several Committees and a part time staffed Office Team). The new full title is the Kent Tennis Charitable Incorporated Organisation, but still known as Kent Tennis.

The Kent Tennis Charitable Incorporated Organisation and its predecessor, Kent County Lawn Tennis Association, will each hold their Annual General Meetings on Monday 29 April 2024 at 7pm (in the main school hall at Newstead Wood School and online via Zoom). The agenda, the appendices and related papers are available above at the top of this page. All member clubs and venues are asked to advise our Governance & Sponsorship Officer, Phil Lynch, who is nominated to vote on behalf of their club at the meeting. Please email Phil Lynch here.

Changes to become a CIO were previously approved by our members at an EGM on 22 May 2023 and the current Boardx of Trustees were elected at an EGM on 9 January 2024. Becoming a charity will allow us to claim Gift Aid for donations from individuals, benefit from funding opportunities only open to charities and greater donations from sponsors, who tell us they would give more if we were a charity. Our members voted unanimously in favour of the changes to help take us forward as a CIO from 1 January 2024. This will help us open up tennis to more people in Kent and set Kent Tennis up for the future.

The Annual Review and Annual Accounts for 2023, along with the Winter 2022/23 and Summer 2023 Inter-Club League trophies will be presented at the Annual General Meeting on Monday 29 April 2024.

Details of the current volunteers and staff can be found on our Meet Our Team page.
